Aunt Michelle Loves Me

I had to share this picture of Catelyn. My long time best friend, Michelle, made this for her and it is so cute. We call her Aunt Michelle as she is such a dear friend to both Grant & I and Nicky loves her too. Catelyn hasn't gotten to meet her yet, but I hope she does soon. Here you go...

Nannie & Pa Come to Visit

Nannie & Pa (my parents) came to visit over the weekend especially for Nicky's birthday. It was so good to see them and while we didn't "do" a lot, we had a lot of good quality time with them and we got to celebrate Fathers Day with my Dad (which I haven't gotten to do in 4 years). On their way out the door to head back to OK, Nicky must have asked them half a dozen times if he could go with them. Hopefully we'll make it out that way soon...

Happy Birthday Nicky!

Nicky turned 3 last Thursday, June 18th. Nannie & Pa came to visit from Oklahoma for his b-day and he had a great time with them! We celebrated with pizza & ice cream sundaes. Nicky chose vanilla ice cream and topped it with chocolate syrup, chocolate sprinkles, Reeses Pieces, & whipped cream. He got lots of gifts but his favorite was the guitar Nannie & Pa got him.

The celebration continued Friday night with Nicky's b-day party at Chick-fil-a (his favorite place to eat). His friends, Ellie, Jacob, Alexander & Ella-Kate, were all there to celebrate. Nicky got some amazing gifts and had a great time with all his friends!

Happy Birthday Nicky!

A long overdue update...

Okay, so this is my first entry since last year. Sad, I know but life has been busy. So let me catch you up. In January, my mom came to visit to help me get ready for the baby. Due to a rather large flood from the shower upstairs, we made a detour to Disneyland and had a great time.

On March 26th at 9:14am, we welcomed Catelyn Alexandra to our family. I did another home delivery and it went great. Here are a few pics...

Catelyn is such a great baby. Very gentle and sweet. Nicky does so well with her and as you can see from the above picture, he's always willing to share his cars with her. I have to admit, it's difficult to get the two kids in a picture together so here are a couple of pics of them recently.

We have been so busy this summer, I will do my best to keep you all updated more often. With Nicky's birthday only 2 days away. I'm sure more pictures will follow :).

Christmas Day

Christmas was so much fun this year! There's nothing like watching a child open gifts on Christmas morning. Nicky learned about Santa this year and asked Santa for a blue car and a green car, which of course he got. He left chocolate chip cookies and a cupcake for Santa and was so excited to get his cars just as he had asked for. While all the gifts were exciting, we had such a wonderful time as a family and have so many beautiful memories. Here are a few pics of our day...

Merry Christmas!

Well, it has been a busy Christmas season and I think we are finally ready for Christmas. Although I didn't get around to Christmas cards this year (mainly because I didn't get around to insisting on a family picture and the last one I have is from Easter), we finally did get around to taking that picture. Merry Christmas!!!

Playing Catch-up...Again

Okay, so I don't update as often as I should. Perhaps I should just get used to waiting a few months and then doing really long entries :). Anyway, here's what we've been up to...

Nicky was a monkey for Halloween and he had a blast at our church's fall festival. He loved the games and the bounce houses and all the excitement of seeing all the other kids dressed up.

Back in November, Mimi & Gramps took Nicky to SeaWorld for Cookie Monster's Birthday. Unfortunately, it was sprinkling so Cookie Monster couldn't come to his own b-day party (what is up with that?) but Oscar the Grouch did come. Nicky loved meeting him and still tells me how he got to give Oscar a high-five and that Cookie Monster didn't come. Perhaps next time...

Just last week we got back from our trip to Oklahoma. Nicky got 2 weeks with Nannie & Grandpa and was spoiled rotten :). He had a great time and asks me all the time when we get to go back.

Last but not least, we found out right before our trip that Baby #2 will be a GIRL!!! We are very excited and I'm antsy to get her room in order. There's a lot to be done before that happens and my mom will be here in January to help me do it. Well, that about covers it for now...
